The Jacksonville Jaguars were well on their way to a win against the Houston Texans that would have moved the team to 6-3 on the season. They were up 29-10 in the fourth against a Texans team that was without star quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was out with a concussion from Week 9.
However, chaos ensued and the Texans took a 30-29 lead late in the fourth quarter. With the Jaguars trying to get a desperation Hail Mary, Trevor Lawrence was hit by former Alabama star Will Anderson Jr., and fumbled a ball that Texans defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins took it back for a touchdown as time expired.
This made the final score 36-29 Texans, and bettors who had the Jaguars at +1.5 were left in agony.
Parker Washington had a big game for the Jaguars. First, he scored on a 7-yard pass to give the Jaguars a 10-0 lead early. Then early in the second quarter, he took back a punt 73 yards to put the team up 17 points.
The Jaguars entered the day as the last team currently in the AFC playoff field, but missed a huge opportunity to create a little separation. In Week 11, they host the Los Angeles Chargers in a game with huge AFC playoff standings.
