Football fans around the country have been thrilled over the course of the last several days to read encouraging reports about the health status of Damar Hamlin.
The Buffalo defensive back, of course, collapsed on the field during a Monday night game against Cincinnati and was hospitalized for several unsettling days.
Hamlin lost consciousness on the field and was revived after being administered CPR by Bills assistant athletic trainer Denny Kellington.
And Kellington’s potentially life-saving efforts have been recognized.
Denny Kellington, the @BuffaloBills assistant athletic trainer who performed CPR on Damar Hamlin on the field, received a fifth-place MVP vote. The official voting breakdown will be released after The Associated Press NFL awards are presented at NFL Honors on Feb. 9.

More specifically, it was reporter Suzy Kolber who voted for Kellington.
Of the decisio, she said it was ““symbolic gesture representing ‘everyone’ who carries the weight of that job, every week. They rarely get the recognition they deserve.”
