Jeremiyah Love and Notre Dame have an opportunity to win a national championship on Monday, the Fighting Irish’s first since 1988.
The Irish’s success has been due in part to Love, who has had an electrifying sophomore campaign: 159 carries, 1,122 yards, and 17 touchdowns. After backing up Audric Estime as a true freshman, Love’s made a name for himself in his first year as a starter.
And he’s also made sure to take care of his loved ones with the NIL opportunities he’s landed as a member of the Irish.
“I bought a (Porsche) over the summer and gave it to my mom. She has it now (so) it’s hers now, basically,” he said with a smile.
On Monday, Love and the Irish hope to be driving out of Atlanta with the program’s first national championship in over three-and-a-half decades. While he’s had a quiet quarterfinal and semifinal — combining for just 65 yards on 17 carries — he shone in the Irish’s first-round matchup against Indiana, taking 8 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown. He also scored a touchdown against Penn State in the Orange Bowl semifinal.
Now, Notre Dame is set to face Ohio State at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to cap the 2024-25 season.
