Ryan Day delivers mic drop moment on Pat McAfee Show ahead of Indiana game
Ryan Day ended his time on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday with a bit of a mic drop.
The Ohio State head coach was on ESPN to break down the Buckeyes’ third top-5 game of the regular season. Ohio State lost the first one on the road to Oregon. Ohio State won the second one on the road against Penn State. The Buckeyes are widely expected to win the third at home on Saturday against No. 5 Indiana.
McAfee made sure to close out Day’s segment with a reminder that the Hoosiers are “the real deal.”
“So are we,” Day shot back.

Ohio State is 9-1 on the season and ranked No. 2 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. The Buckeyes are working their way toward a rematch with Oregon in the Big Ten Championship Game, but they have to take care of business over the next 2 weeks are they’ll be watching that game from home. Oregon has its spot locked up. Ohio State will be out of contention if it loses to Indiana on Saturday.
“Every year when you come to Ohio State you want to win it all,” Day told McAfee. “You have certain goals that you set and the guys who want to be here, you have to understand you’re here to win every single game and that’s the way it goes.
“… I think this crowd is going to come in tomorrow and have that edge about them. This is a top-5 matchup. This is our third top-5 matchup this year and we’ve got this one at home. I know this crowd is going to be fired up.”
The Buckeyes are a 10.5-point favorite at DraftKings. Kickoff from The Shoe is set for noon ET on FOX.
