The Manning family is known for its dry and sarcastic humor, and Eli Manning didn’t waste an opportunity to use a dad-style joke on brother Cooper.

Cooper, of course, could not continue his football career, even though he signed with Ole Miss, because of a spinal issue. But given Peyton and Eli’s successful careers, Cooper’s football career is often discussed in the context of, what happened to him?

Cooper was a two-time All-State wide receiver at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans and played in the Louisiana High School All-Star Game as well as participating on two state championship basketball teams. Now his son is in the news as the No. 1 QB in the Class of 2023, and he also plays at Isidore Newman. Cooper is currently a Principal at AJ Capital Partners, a vertically-integrated real estate development and investment firm. He graduated from Ole Miss and lives in New Orleans with his wife and three kids.

Peyton and Eli collected four Super Bowls, three Super Bowl MVP awards, 19 Pro Bowl selections.

This year’s academy was held on the campus of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana on July 15-18.
