FSU will start redshirt freshman Deondre Francois in its season opener against Ole Miss at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Despite playing in the first College Football game of his career, Francois should be ready, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman.
Heard very good buzz abt new #FSU QB Deondre Francois from someone I trust there: "Accurate, above avg velocity, great mobility & demeanor"
— Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) August 31, 2016
Feldman is echoing what many FSU fans believed even before senior Sean Maguire was ruled out for the first month of the season with a foot injury. Francois is a former four-star dual-threat quarterback who has already drawn comparisons to Jameis Winston. That’s gotten FSU fans excited with the team ranked No. 4 heading into the season.
If the Francois hype is true, the Rebels will have a tough task in stopping FSU’s offense, which returns all of its starters from 2015 at every other position.
