Jerrell Powe delivers message of state pride in Ole Miss’ Egg Bowl hype video
Jerrell Powe is here to fire up Ole Miss fans on Thanksgiving.
Powe played in Oxford from 2008-2010 and delivered the message ahead of kickoff. For Powe, there’s no other rivalry that comes close to the Egg Bowl between Ole Miss and Mississippi State each year.
“There ain’t no other rivalry like the Egg Bowl. As late November approaches, folks from across the country tune in to see how Mississippi plays football,” said Powe. “Hard-hitting, gritting your teeth, trash-talking football. That man across from you wants to hurt you. Hurt him first. It’s always been us versus them. On Thursday, we get to prove to the nation what they already know. That we run the ‘Sip.”
No rivalry compares to the Egg Bowl

It feels like no matter how both teams are doing this game is always close. The last 4 games in the series have been decided by 10 points or fewer.
Last year’s version had a wild ending of its own. Ole Miss scored with no time left on the clock, but then couldn’t get its 2-point conversion try to work and lost 24-22 to the Bulldogs.
The Rebels will be looking for revenge on Thanksgiving. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
