Lane Kiffin reveals lesson he learned during controversial review in win over LSU

Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss faithful experienced an absolutely incredible moment Saturday night. The Rebels won arguably the game of the week as they defeated LSU, 55-49.
The offensive display by Ole Miss was one for the ages, as the Rebels had 706 yards of total offense. Quarterback Jaxon Dart threw for 389 yards and 4 touchdowns while running back Quinshon Judkins rushed the ball 33 times for 177 yards and 1 score. The running game as a whole rushed the ball 49 times for 317 yards and 3 touchdowns.
While Kiffin probably learned about how good his offense can truly be, it wasn’t the only thing he learned on Saturday night.
With Ole Miss up 28-14 midway through the 2nd quarter, LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was ruled out of bounds on a pass in the endzone. However, after a long review, the play was overturned and ruled a touchdown catch.
During the game, Kiffin spoke with one of the officials asking how they could determine it was a catch and was given an answer he didn’t expect.
“I did learn something,” Kiffin said during his teleconference on Sunday. “‘How can you say that?’ And then he explained to me, well, he doesn’t have the power to make the call. He just listens from above. So, that was something that I learned, because I tried to get him to explain ‘How can you say it’s possession?’ (He basically said) ‘I can’t say that I disagree with you, but it’s not my call!”
Here’s Kiffin’s full response on learning the ins and outs of the review process for the first time:
In his teleconference with local reporters a few moments ago, @Lane_Kiffin told us he learned something about how reviews work last night. Even coaches are learning new things every single day! (I did not know this either honestly) pic.twitter.com/vxYbLpCR29

They always say it is easier to learn in a win, so that is a good thing for Kiffin. The Ole Miss Rebels will be on the road next week as they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
