Ole Miss has hired a new assistant athletic director, and it’s a person whose name may cause a stir in Oxford.

The Rebels are hiring Tyler Siskey to be a member of the recruiting office, but Siskey was involved in a controversy a few years ago, when he was a part of Alabama’s staff. Fans on Twitter thought Siskey was helping sell out then-Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze by stealing signals.

However, Siskey is now back in Oxford (after working with the Rebels in 2012) under new coach Matt Luke, and according to a statement released by the school, it appears the Rebels are going to let bygones be bygones:

“Tyler has a tremendous track record of success in recruiting, and we are excited to have him back on our staff,” Luke said. “Our coaches continue to recruit at a high level, and with the addition of Tyler, we look forward to taking our efforts to even greater heights.”

Siskey has served as South Alabama’s wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator since 2015, but now he’ll be back with the Rebels.

Luke clearly likes him, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can help turn Ole Miss’s recruiting around.
