Ole Miss continues to revamp its roster entering the 2024 season, and now the Rebels have added a dynamic athlete from a Big Ten power.

Amorion Walker, a wide receiver-turned-defensive back, who entered the transfer portal about a week ago, announced a commitment to Ole Miss on Wednesday. One of the best athletes on the national champion, the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder was a 3-star recruit out of high school according to the 247 Sports Composite and had offers from Alabama, Notre Dame and LSU, among others.

This transfer brings Walker closer to home, as the Ponchatoula, Louisiana did not receive consistent playing time at Michigan. Walker played in 13 games, including 5 as a wide receiver in 2022 and 7 as a defensive back. He made 3 tackles, including a half-tackle for a loss against Indiana.

His production was spotty throughout the season. Walker made his season debut at defensive back at Nebraska, then made a solo tackle playing defensive back at Minnesota and played defensive back at Michigan State with one pass breakup. He also played as a cornerback against Purdue and against Iowa in the Big Ten Championship.
