Shortly after the news broke of Hugh Freeze’s resignation, Ole Miss lost a commitment from a defensive back in its 2019 class. On Saturday, a Freeze-related decommitment hit the 2018 class.

Three-star CB Jaylin Williams committed to Ole Miss on June 23, but has announced that he’s backing off that pledge. In a note posted on his Twitter account, the Germantown (Tenn.) product cited “recent developments” as his reason for decommitting from the Rebels. He was the only cornerback commit in Ole Miss’ 2018 class.

Williams, rated the No. 86 cornerback and No. 29 Tennessee recruit, could still wind up in the SEC. The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder has 16 scholarship offers, including Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
