Ole Miss announced on Monday the guidelines set forth by Governor Tate Reeves will be followed for the coming football season as Vaught Hemingway Stadium will be limited to 25 percent capacity for the fall season.

Masks will be required for all attendees throughout the stadium, social distancing must be practiced and there will be no tailgating on campus this season.

“We appreciate the diligence of our state and conference leadership in addressing these difficult decisions, and under their guidelines, our staff have developed a thoughtful plan to begin the season,” Ole Miss AD Keith Carter said in an issued statement. “We ask the Ole Miss family for their cooperation and understanding as we adapt to the changes necessary in order to hold athletics events.

“While we’re all disappointed that we cannot enjoy The Grove this year, we look forward to providing a safe environment for as many fans as permitted at Vaught-Hemingway. Most importantly, we are grateful that our student-athletes will have the opportunity to play the game they love.”

This season, Ole Miss is set to host five games: the season opener on Sept. 26 against Florida, Oct. 10 vs. Alabama, Oct. 24 vs. Auburn, Nov. 14 vs. South Carolina and Nov. 28 vs. Mississippi State.
