The Ole Miss offense is going to have to rebuild next season, as star players like QB Jordan Ta’amu, WRs AJ Brown and D.K. Metcalf and OL Greg Little are likely off to the NFL.

On Tuesday, that task was made harder, as OC Phil Longo was announced as Mack Brown’s new offensive coordinator at North Carolina.

However, a familiar face could be back in Oxford soon, as Rivals reporter Chase Parham identified South Carolina QB coach Dan Werner as a potential early front-runner for the job:

Werner was Ole Miss’s offensive coordinator in 2006 and 2007, and also served as the Rebels’ QB coach from 2012 to 2016.

He seems to be quite familiar with the Rebels, so it’ll be interesting to see if Matt Luke makes the call to bring Werner back to Oxford.
