It’s been an absolute mess of an offseason for the Ole Miss Rebels, who have undergone an NCAA investigation and now face a lawsuit from former coach Houston Nutt and also have to keep an eye on a legal complaint from the Rebel Rags clothing store involving a pair of Mississippi State players and Laremy Tunsil’s stepfather.

Understandably, coach Hugh Freeze wanted to avoid those topics during his SEC Media Days press conference on Thursday, so he decided to give a long, winding opening speech that touched on everything from punters to the depth chart.

Naturally, folks on Twitter had a field day with Freeze’s perceived attempt to filibuster his press conference. Here are some of the best tweets about the embattled coach’s opening remarks:

Unfortunately for Freeze, questions about the investigations and lawsuits will continue to follow him until all the matters are resolved.

Therefore, it’s probably a good idea for him to sip on some lemon and ginger tea to keep his vocal cords healthy, as his filibustering skills will certainly be needed again in the future.
