The SEC consistently produces some of the top teams and players around the nation during each college football season.

The 2019 campaign promises to be very similar, as several SEC squads will enter the year with some top-tier athletes up and down the roster.

On Wednesday, Athlon Sports released a list of the top 50 players for the 2019 season, and somewhat surprisingly, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa edged out Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence for the No. 1 spot:

  • No. 1 — Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
