A trio of SEC programs are amongst the schools expected to host LSU transfer receiver CJ Daniels on recruiting visits in the coming days, according to a report.
Per On3’s Pete Nakos, those SEC programs are Ole Miss, Georgia and Auburn. Nakos also notes that Daniels is also expected to visit Miami and Georgia Tech. It’s possible he’ll take visits beyond those 5 places, too.
Daniels spent just 1 season at LSU after transferring in from Liberty last offseason. He caught 42 passes for 480 yards this season, but did not find the end zone. He also averaged just 11.4 yards per reception, which was a career-low. He ended the season as LSU’s fourth-leading pass catcher behind Kyren Lacy, Aaron Anderson and Mason Taylor.
In 2023, Daniels went totaled over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns during his final season at Liberty.
Ole Miss, Georgia and Auburn are all looking to add to their WR room this offseason. Ole Miss had one of the nation’s top wide receiver rooms this past offseason, but star wideout Tre Harris will need to be replaced as he heads off to the NFL.
For the Bulldogs, they need a talent infusion after only 1 player (Arian Smith) managed to amass more than 700 receiving yards this season.
Auburn, meanwhile, will be looking to augment a room that includes freshman stars Cam Coleman and Malcolm Simmons. Leading receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith is out of eligibility after this season, so the Tigers need a veteran presence at WR going into next season.
There is no timetable for Daniels to make a final decision.
