Quarterback Zach Calzada will continue his up-and-down college football career outside of the SEC.

The former Texas A&M and Auburn quarterback will transfer to FCS program Incarnate Word according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Calzada was expected to challenge for the starting job when he transferred to Auburn, but ended up as the third-stringer behind T.J. Finley and Robby Ashford.

His highlight in the SEC was on October 9, 2021 when he threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns to help Texas A&M upset then-No. 1 Alabama, 41-38.

Calzada will head to Incarnate Word to replace Lindsey Scott Jr., who won the Walter Payton Award and was named a first-team FCS All-American. Scott accumulated over 5,000 yards in total offense last season.
