ACC admits mistake was made by officials at end of North Carolina-Wake Forest game
The Wake Forest-North Carolina game on Friday night ended in controversial fashion.
With one second showing on the clock on TV, the North Carolina running back stepped out of bounds. However, the officials ran off the field and play wasn’t stopped by the replay officials.
On Saturday, the ACC said the replay officials made a mistake and that one second should have been added to the clock, giving the Tar Heels one more snap and a chance to score in the 24-18 contest:

While that won’t make North Carolina fans feel any better, it is important for the ACC to admit it was wrong.
There was no word on what the disciplinary measures were for the replay officials, but these are the kinds of mistakes that can’t happen when you have designated people to prevent such things.
