Army Captain Shalesa Perry got to give her family the surprise of a lifetime at the Peach Bowl on Saturday.

Perry’s father, James Perry, was honored after the first quarter for his time as an operator for Chick-fil-A, the bowl’s sponsor. James and his wife were watching a video message from their daughter on the big screen, before Shalesa showed up in person.

The parents excitedly hugged their daughter, who was not expected home for some time. To make matters better, this event unfolded on James’ birthday.

As for the game, Ole Miss dominated Penn State. Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart threw for 379 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back Quinshon Judkins added 106 rushing yards. The Rebel defense generated 2 turnovers, which proved too much for the Nittany Lions to overcome as the Rebels walked away with a 38-25 win.

With the victory, the Rebels achieved their first 11-win season in school history and the program’s first bowl win since 2020.
