Danny Kanell has a message to people saying that Florida State doesn’t deserve to be in the College Football Playoff.

The CBS analyst and former Florida State quarterback is fed up with some of the opinions he saw on the Seminoles following a narrow win over Florida on Saturday night.

“There’s something I want to address, a PSA if you will for college football fans and analysts that are out there, and it has to do with Florida State,” Kanell said. “Because I am hearing some absolutely asinine takes on the Seminoles and their chances of getting in the College Football Playoff. It’s pretty simple, if they win, they’re in.”

He said that Florida State is being held to a different standard than other CFP contenders.

“But for some reason, people are trying to hold them to a different standard than everyone else is,” Kanell said. “It feels like Florida State has a two-game window, one of which they already won against Florida, to try to impress the committee with how do they look with a backup in Tate Rodemaker. Well not only did they win and covered and they were impressive on the road, but yet I still hear people saying they don’t look the part.”

Kanell called out the teams that also struggled during rivalry week.

“Did Georgia look the part against Georgia Tech where they struggled with the Yellow Jackets in the 4th quarter?” Kanell said. “Did Washington look the part against Washington State as a 2-touchdown favorite and they needed a field goal to win it? Did Alabama look the part against Auburn, needing a hail mary, a prayer if you will, against Auburn? No, none of them did, but they won and that’s all the matters. That’s all that matters for Florida State too.”
