Early catch-of-the-year candidate? Texas State WR makes incredible 1-handed TD catch
The Texas State Bobcats are (somewhat surprisingly) tied with SMU 14-14 at halftime of the game at Texas State on Saturday evening.
The reason the 2 teams are tied? Well, Texas State WR Jeremiah Haydel had a lot to do with that, making the game-tying grab late in the first half.
As you can see below, he goes up in the corner of the end zone with a defender all over him and makes an incredible 1-handed grab that was upheld upon review:

That has to be considered an early catch-of-the-year candidate, as the degree of difficulty doesn’t get much higher than that.
It’ll be tough to top that grab moving forward, though with how many talented wide receivers there are across the country, we’re sure there will be plenty of other big-time catches this season.
