Former Tennessee punter Tommy Townsend announced his plans to transfer in June, and it appears his transfer destination has been revealed.

Florida posted an updated roster Thursday, and GatorBait.net reporter Thomas Goldkamp noticed an interesting addition:

At the time of the transfer, it was reported that Townsend was seeking playing time. It appears that the Orlando native might just want to be closer to home, as his older brother Johnny Townsend is unlikely to surrender the starting job at Florida in either of his final two seasons with the Gators.

Johnny was third in the NCAA in net punting last season, averaging 45.4 yards per punt on 83 attempts. He was named a first-team All-American by ESPN.com and second-team All-SEC by the conference’s coaches as well as the Associated Press.

Tommy redshirted at Tennessee after losing the starting job to Trevor Daniel, who set a school record with 45.7 yards per punt.
