If you don’t know the name Jake Garcia now, there’s a good chance you will soon know it as the California native is one of the nation’s top overall prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

Considering he is about to enter the junior season of his high school football career, the 6-foot-1, 188-pound native of Harbor City still has plenty of time to make his college decision but quarterbacks tend to make their commitments earlier and earlier these days. Just look at the QB rankings for the 2021 recruiting cycle, six of the top seven pro-style quarterbacks and two of the top four dual-threat quarterbacks are already committed to colleges.

That makes Garcia the highest-ranked uncommitted QB in the nation for the 2021 cycle as 247Sports Composite Rankings lists the California signal-caller as the No. 4 pro-style QB and No. 21 overall prospect in the nation. Garcia has also been selected to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game, which is impressive considering he has yet to play a down of high school football as a junior.

Garcia has begun to narrow his options down and recently announced his top 10 choices, which features five SEC programs. Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee all made the cut, along with Arizona State, Florida State, Miami, San Jose State and USC rounding out his top 10. His list comes after taking visits to Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Florida State this spring.

Now that he’s the top uncommitted signal-caller left on the board for the 2021 recruiting cycle, don’t be surprised to see all these teams spike their interest now that they know where they stand with the talented California native.
