LA Tech announces punishment for player caught stepping on UTEP defender
L.A. Tech announced that Brevin Randle will be suspended indefinitely after stepping on a UTEP player’s helmet during Friday’s game.
After UTEP fumbled the ball and gave it to the Bulldogs, there was a player down on the field. Randle stepped on the UTEP player’s helmet.
Athletic director Eric Wood and head coach Sonny Cumbie met with Randle Saturday to deal out the suspension.
“Coach Cumbie and I met with Brevin Randle today and informed him that he has been suspended indefinitely as a result of the incident during last night’s game versus UTEP. In speaking with Brevin, he acknowledges that his action was wrong and understands the consequence of that action. Our University, athletic department, and football program believe in culture, class and competitive excellence and in no was that displayed in that moment.”
