ESPN’s “College GameDay” crew must really like SEC towns — as well as their eating establishments. In the first 21 years of what has become a traveling college football institution, SEC locales have hosted GameDay 75 times.

The show — which originally aired out of Bristol, Conn. from 1987-1992 — kicks off its 22nd season on the road at a neutral site — Lambeau Field, home of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers — and will feature an SEC team in LSU taking on Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 3.

GameDay must also really like Tuscaloosa, which it has visited 15 times to lead all college towns. Gainesville is its second-favorite SEC spot with 12 visits and Baton Rouge comes in third with 11.

In all, 64 schools representing just about every level of college football have hosted GameDay, and 84 have appeared on ESPN’s broadcast. The network has visited every current SEC town, so here’s a look at the last time GameDay came to your school’s city:

Athens

With GameDay on hand on Sept. 28, 2013, Georgia held off LSU, 44-41.

Auburn

Hopefully the GameDay crew stuck around long enough to witness Chris Davis’ Kick-Six that lifted the Tigers over Alabama, 34-28, on Nov. 30, 2013 and served as a springboard for Auburn on its way to the BCS National Championship Game.

Baton Rouge

On Oct. 25, 2014, LSU nipped Ole Miss, 10-7, after GameDay stopped by.

College Station

We’re not sure if the Sept. 14, 2013 edition of GameDay was as entertaining as the game that followed it — Alabama’s 49-42 victory over Texas A&M.

Columbia, MO

Missouri wasn’t part of the SEC yet, but the GameDay crew got to watch a good game nonetheless as the Tigers topped No. 3 Oklahoma, 36-27, on Oct. 23, 2010.

Columbia, SC

With GameDay in town, that other school from Columbia — Missouri — edged South Carolina, 21-20, on Sept. 27, 2014.

Fayetteville

The Razorbacks followed up GameDay’s only visit to the home of the Hogs on Nov. 11, 2006 with a 31-14 victory over Tennessee.

Gainesville

Believe it or not, GameDay hasn’t been to Gator Country since Oct. 20, 2012, when Florida stomped South Carolina, 44-11.

Knoxville

After GameDay came to town, Florida went into Neyland Stadium and flipped Tennessee, 37-20, on Sept. 15, 2012.

Lexington

Following Kentucky’s only appearance on GameDay on Oct. 20, 2007, the Wildcats lost to Florida, 45-37.

Nashville

Maybe Vanderbilt considers GameDay a jinx. After playing host to the show for the first time and beating Auburn, 14-13, to improve to 5-0 on Oct. 4, 2008, the Commodores lost four straight and haven’t appeared on GameDay ever since.

Oxford

GameDay’s only visit to Ole Miss was one to remember as the Rebels upset Alabama, 23-17, on Oct. 4, 2014 to start what is currently a two-game winning streak against the Tide.

Starkville

On a momentous day in what turned out to be a memorable season for Mississippi State, GameDay preceded the Bulldogs’ 38-23 win over Auburn on Oct. 11, 2014.

Tuscaloosa

GameDay made two visits here last season, and Tuscaloosa was the only SEC town to appear on the show in 2015. Ole Miss beat Alabama, 43-37, following the first visit on Sept. 19, but the Crimson Tide bounced back to beat LSU, 30-16, after the second one on Nov. 7.
