Many teams in college football would be best served to recruit the Memphis area hard.

Memphis 3-star cornerback Rayshad Williams revealed Friday that four SEC teams are currently trailing Virginia Tech: Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Ole Miss has recruited particularly well in Memphis, but the Rebels are absent Williams’ top five. (He tweeted later that he’s also interested in Ole Miss).

Williams is rated the nation’s No. 80 overall cornerback and the state’s No. 27 ranked prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. The thing that jumps out the most about Williams is his size. You won’t find many cornerbacks listed at 6-foot-4, and Williams is the very definition of a “big” defensive back.
