Ohio State fell 32-31 on the road at Oregon on Saturday night in dramatic fashion.

The Buckeyes were driving into field goal range, but penalties and incompletions stalled the drive out at the plus-38 yard-line with just 6 seconds remaining.

Ohio State still had a timeout left, but needed to gain another few yards in order to have a good chance at a potential game-winning field goal. On the final play of the game, quarterback Will Howard surveyed the field before deciding to scramble up the middle.

But too much time came off the clock before he slid down, resulting in the game clock expiring — and a dramatic Oregon victory. Here’s a replay of the final sequence:

This is just the second win all time for Oregon over Ohio State. The Ducks are now in prime position to make a run at appearing in the Big Ten Championship Game in their first season in the league.

For Ohio State, it’s a devastating loss. The Buckeyes had chances to win this game but ultimately came up short and now may have to win out in order to reach the College Football Playoff in 2024.
