After reopening his recruitment last fall following a commitment to LSU as a high school sophomore, Murfreesboro, Tenn., athlete JaCoby Stevens is prepared to commit to a school for the second time.

Rated as a five-star athlete and the No. 1 athlete in the nation by 247Sports, Stevens revealed to Dawg Nation of his plans to announce his latest commitment July 19, his 18th birthday. At this point in his recruitment, while Stevens has yet to eliminate LSU, Florida, Florida State or in-state Tennessee, it would be a shock if Stevens did not commit to Georgia in July.

Although a July commitment won’t stop rival schools from continuing their pursuit of Stevens, as the end of the college football season is a long way away and much can change between the middle of summer and the end of fall. Stevens is planning on enrolling early this January with whichever school he ultimately signs with.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Stevens is a one-man wrecking crew on the defensive side of the ball. Whether its making an incredible one-handed leaping interception or lowering his shoulder and crushing the ball carrier, Stevens looks the part of a future college football superstar.

Don’t rule him out playing special teams or perhaps even a little offense at the next level, as he also possesses unique playmaking skills with the ball in his hands. Check out his highlight reel and see for yourself:
