The NFL is hammering one team and its head coach for violating COVID-19 protocols.

“NFL will fine the Las Vegas Raiders $500,000 and coach Jon Gruden $150,000 and strip the team of a 6th round draft pick for COVID-19 protocol violations related to OT Trent Brown’s positive test in late October,” Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports tweeted, citing sources.

“Escalated fines/pick were due to being a ‘repeat offender,'” Robinson added.

Robinson’s report has since been picked up by other outlets, including ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Pro Football Talk.

Brown is a former Florida standout, joining then-coach Will Muschamp’s program in 2013. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 and traded to the New England Patriots in 2018 before becoming the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history when he signed with the Raiders in 2019.

Brown was in the news recently for an IV mishap that landed him in the hospital.
