Bowl season has a reputation for spotty attendance depending on the magnitude of a particular game, the teams involved and their proximity to the location of the game in question.

However, many of the SEC’s 12 bowl games posted worthy attendance numbers this season, with seven of the conference’s bowl games amassing crowd of 50,000 fans or more. Six of those games had crowds that exceeded 80 percent of the venue’s capacity, although none of the SEC’s bowl games could claim a crowd that reached full capacity.

All in all, the SEC’s bowl games amassed an average attendance of more than 53,000 fans per game and a cumulative attendance of close to 644,400.
