Transfers have become a major storyline for teams across the SEC this season, and several of them are set to take on big roles.

Of all the transfers in the country, 7 players from the SEC made 247Sports’ All-Transfer Team.

  • Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama RB
  • Jaylon Robinson, Ole Miss WR
  • Jermaine Burton, Alabama WR
  • Michael Trigg, Ole Miss TE
  • Tyler Steen, Alabama OL
  • Drew Sanders, Arkansas LB
  • Jarrick Bernard-Converse, LSU DB

Here’s some explanation for why they were chosen:

Gibbs could be the first running back chosen in the 2023 NFL Draft, Clint Brewster noted, but he will likely have to navigate some question marks on the Alabama offensive line. Robinson is only listed at 5-foot-9, 180-pounds, but can really compete for 50/50 balls and go outside of his frame to make catches. Burton is extremely reliable and polished as a receiver and you can count on him having a huge year for the Tide. Trigg can be moved all around the formation to create mismatches and also be a huge red-zone threat.

Steen was one of the most coveted transfer portal offensive lineman and was a huge get for Alabama considering the Tide are replacing both tackle spots. Sanders will play some middle linebacker for Arkansas, and looks like a nice fit in Barry Odom’s aggressive defensive scheme. Converse is a hard-nosed physical player who can matchup against bigger receivers.
