SEC Shorts is back yet again! Only this time, the popular SEC show takes stock of the league with the official end to the season for SEC football.

That end came on Friday night with Ohio State beating Texas in the Cotton Bowl, setting up an all-Midwest national championship featuring the Buckeyes and Notre Dame. Of the SEC’s other Playoff teams, Georgia lost to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals while Tennessee was a first-round loss to Ohio State.

Those defeated CFP teams from the SEC are the subject of the latest SEC Shorts with the league asking those teams how this outcome occurred.

“In a word: disappointing,” begins the SEC. “What happened out there?”

As the teams dryly refer to their outcomes as “beatdowns,” the SEC reminds the teams that they are supposed to be “The beacon of college football excellence.”

While it’s clear the league was not that this season, the SEC informs everyone it’s time to begin the rebuild for 2025 with a visit from a motivational speaker. Unfortunately, the group is stunned to learn the motivational speaker that arrives is none other than Ohio State.

“You told your marketing team to hire a team that represents a winning tradition, sustained success and a history of excellence,” says the Buckeyes. “Ta-dah!”

Georgia tries to troll Ohio State’s NIL fund, only to be reminded that its star QB, Carson Beck, is ditching the program for Miami.

As Tennessee tries to get in a crack, Ohio State fires back by thanking the Vols for allowing the 3rd-string Buckeyes to get some action in a first-round Playoff game.

Ohio State then continues by trying to pitch some ideas for the SEC. Those ideas include having the game of the week at a noon kickoff and implementing “weird trophies” for every rivalry game in the season, staples of the Big Ten.

While it’s clear the SEC isn’t going to be taking that kind of advice to heart, the latest episode from SEC Shorts is another jewel. Check it out:
