Earlier tonight, the Southeastern Conference handed out its weekly football honors to the top performers from this past week of SEC football.

Here are the following Week 2 award winners:

Offensive Player of the Week

Maty Mauk, QB, Missouri – Mauk was a significant part in Missouri’s 49-24 road victory over Toledo this past Saturday. The sophomore signal caller tied a school record with five touchdown passes and threw for a career-high 325 passing yards. He also recorded a running touchdown, giving him six scores on the day..

Defensive Player of the Week

Cliff Coleman, DB, Ole Miss – The Ole Miss defense shined against Vanderbilt this weekend, allowing the Commodores only three points and 60 passing yards. At the forefront of this outstanding effort was the senior defensive back, Cliff Coleman. Early in the third quarter, Coleman benefited from an errant throw by Vanderbilt quarterback Stephen Rivers. His 39-yard pick-six was the school’s first since 2011.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Elliott Fry, PK, South Carolina – In South Carolina’s 33-23 win against East Carolina, Elliott Fry’s four field goals were the difference in a hotly contested battle in Columbia. His field goals of 39, 42, 26 and 20 yards proved to be crucial. His 20-yard field goal helped seal the win for the Gamecocks, sailing through the uprights with just 1:30 left in the game. All in all, he accounted for 15 points.

Freshman of the Week

Jalen Hurd, RB, Tennessee – The true freshman running back had another strong performance in just his second collegiate game. On 23 carries, Hurd ran for 83 yards along with a four-yard touchdown run, which was the first of his career.

Offensive Lineman of the Week

Max Garcia, OL, Florida – If you had to choose someone as one of the leaders for a Florida offense that put up 655 total yards and scored seven times against Eastern Michigan, you wouldn’t have to look much further than Max Garcia. According to the SEC’s official release, UF coaches graded out Garcia 97 percent at assignment, 85 percent at technique and 91 percent effort over 74 plays.

Defensive Lineman of the Week

Preston Smith, DL, Mississippi State – For the second straight week, Mississippi State defensive lineman Preston Smith has been named the SEC defensive lineman of the week. The senior from Stone Mountain, Ga. had a 21-yard pick six that he intercepted with one hand. In addition to the interception, Smith also recorded five tackles, one tackle for loss and one QB hurry.
