The SEC is loaded with freshmen who were stud recruits and other underclassmen who could leave early for the NFL, but here at Saturday Down South we don’t want to overlook the talented seniors who stuck around for a fourth season and are excelling for their teams. Here are five of the top performances from seniors during the seventh week of the SEC football season.

DAK PRESCOTT

The Mississippi State quarterback continued his climb toward the SEC’s career touchdown passes mark, throwing 3 touchdown passes in the Bulldogs’ victory against Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Prescott led the Mississippi State offense to 45 points, completing 30 of 43 passes for 347 yards without an interception. He also carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards and a touchdown.

KENTRELL BROTHERS

It’s a down year for Missouri, which has lost two straight now after falling at Georgia and is just 1-3 in SEC play, but a bright spot for the Tigers has certainly been the play of the senior linebacker Brothers. Brothers had an astounding 17 tackles as the Mizzou defense limited the Bulldogs to just 9 points.

JAKE GANUS

Unsurprisingly in a game with no touchdowns, there were multiple defensive stars when Georgia took on Missouri, and the Bulldogs senior transfer linebacker from UAB was one of them. Ganus finished with a team-high 9 total tackles, including 1.5 for a loss and a sack.

REGGIE RAGLAND

There was something about senior linebackers this week. Alabama’s Reggie Ragland had yet another outstanding game as the Crimson Tide continues to win behind the strong effort of its defense. Ragland had a team-high 9 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, to go with a sack as the Tide got consistent pressure on the Texas A&M quarterbacks all day in College Station.

JAKE McGEE

A senior transfer from Virginia, McGee had his biggest game so far with Florida, making a pair of touchdown catches and finishing with 5 receptions for 43 yards. McGee is becoming a more important part of the Gators offense as the season goes along with steady production each of the past four games.
