Signing Day will finalize the class of 2018. Everybody craves the 5-star talent, but who is best at turning under-the-radar players into future stars?

Well, we looked at the past three NFL Drafts and saw which schools culled draftees from outside the 5-star ranks.

All rankings are 247sports.com’s composite numbers, and so we listed the non-5 star guys and what round they were drafted in. So who relies on the 5-stars? Let’s take a look …

In conclusion …

So six SEC teams didn’t send a 5-star prospect to any of the past three NFL Drafts. The most interesting teams are those like A&M that rely on some big-time names, but also on some really deeply under-the-radar types.

Missouri is the only team to place a 2-star prospect into the NFL Draft’s first round, and coupled with their 0 percent rate of draftees being 5-star guys, they probably earn the claim of doing the most with the least.

The other quirk here is that having a ton of 5-stars would seem to be the way to live. And it hasn’t hurt Alabama, but at the same time, it hasn’t done a ton for Florida or Ole Miss.
