Steve Spurrier has been all over college campuses since resigning as South Carolina’s football coach, but he’s made it clear he won’t be in Columbia Saturday when his two former schools, Florida and South Carolina, play Saturday.

“I don’t think that’s my place,” Spurrier told The State newspaper Monday. “I’m not going to go to the game. I’m not going to go to any games,” Spurrier said. “I don’t think I should. I think I need to get out of the way and let the coaches here and players have a go at it. I certainly think we have, the Gamecocks have got a chance to win this one this week, but I’m not going to be around.”

Spurrier is the all-time winningest coach at both schools.
