Week 6 of 2016 was one of the strangest weeks in SEC football history. One game was played on a Sunday, one wasn’t played at all and the matchup of the week was a two-overtime thriller between Tennessee and Texas A&M. Here’s what those in the sports media had to say about last week’s action.

LSU at Florida

As 0f 2 p.m. ET on Monday, there is still no resolution to the unplayed game between LSU and Florida. Fans and even media personalities have been frustrated with the deadlock in this issue as both teams have been lobbying and playing media chicken since the game’s cancellation was announced on Thursday.

Auburn at Mississippi State

This thrashing by Auburn was bad enough to remind Mississippi State fans of the Sylvester Croom years. Things looked hopeful from the onset as the Bulldogs jumped on a Sean White pass for an early interception, but after missing a field goal, they would have no answers. The tone around the SEC seemed to be more geared toward roasting Mississippi State than praising Auburn, but the Tigers’ offense was impressive regardless.

Vanderbilt at Kentucky

This game was pretty hard to watch, but the finish was electric nonetheless. Sadly for Vandy fans and the Big Blue Nation, their game ran parallel to the Tennessee-Texas A&M game, meaning that the eyes of most sports pundits were elsewhere.
