Shane Beamer revealed on Tuesday that he had a conversation with offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains regarding the open offensive coordinator position at Arkansas.

Loggains joined South Carolina at the beginning of the season after spending 2 years as a tight ends coach at Arkansas. Loggains also played college football at Arkansas.

But Beamer isn’t concerned about his offensive coordinator leaving for the job. He discussed the conversation during his press conference on Tuesday.

“I don’t know what Sam’s plans are out in Arkansas, but I think Dowell’s very happy here,” Beamer said. “Certainly when I saw that news a couple weeks ago with the situation at Arkansas, Dowell and I had some conversations. And I know he’s very happy here and his family’s happy here and we are super happy that he’s here as well. I don’t think there’s anything else to say other than he and I have talked and I’ll keep those conversations between us.”

Beamer and Loggains are looking for a pair of wins to close out the season and reach bowl eligibility. The Gamecocks will take on Kentucky this week before closing out the season against Clemson.
