Coaching contracts for college football coaches can be dense and complicated.
With so much staff turnover in recent weeks at South Carolina, there are a few new contracts the school’s Board of Trustees have to approve.
One of those contracts belongs to new DL coach Tracy Rocker. When the contracts were being discussed, one Board of Trustees member had a hilarious question about what “firing for cause” meant:
A BOT member asks what the definition of fired "for cause" entails for a DL coach. After an explainer, she says, "So 'cause' would not be if every SEC team we play runs for 400 yards?" This is my favorite ever moment in board of trustee meeting history.

That’s a fair question, and one many South Carolina fans would be asking if Rocker’s defensive line struggles that much.
However, that generally refers to conduct off the field, but now the Board of Trustees member knows that.
