South Carolina wide receiver Josh Vann has apologized to coaches for the comments he made on a podcast regarding play-calling.

Vann has a podcast with fellow Gamecock Darius Rush, which is where he made comments about the play-calling in the Arkansas game before South Carolina played Georgia:

“There was one time, not to bash a coach or nothing like that, it was third down and we called a play that we haven’t went over in like three weeks,” Vann said.

He said in the most recent episode of the podcast that he reached out and apologized to his coaches and said in the future he will keep comments like that to the team (via The State):

“I addressed it with my coaches. I apologized about it,” Vann said Thursday. “Stuff like that really needs to stay in house. It is what it is. It’s out there so I can’t take it back, but a lot of people take things out of context.”

South Carolina offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said he and Vann had a conversation about the comments and took ownership in his play-calling.

“We hadn’t repped it in about three weeks. I shouldn’t have done it, but I can’t promise you I won’t do it again. I’ll try not to,” Satterfield said, per The State.
