The last time the South Carolina Gamecocks met the Michigan Wolverines in the Outback Bowl, we saw one of the hardest hits in the history of college football.
That came courtesy of star Gamecocks DE Jadeveon Clowney, who knocked Michigan RB Vincent Smith’s helmet clean off on a violent collision in the backfield.
You can see that incredible play from back in 2013 below:

As the Gamecocks prepare for another New Year’s Day Outback Bowl matchup against the Wolverines, the South Carolina football Twitter account sent out a holiday greeting with a not-so-subtle message for Michigan:
Merry Christmas to all! We hope your day is a hit! pic.twitter.com/MQmeRHwgFU

The caption reads “Merry Christmas to all! We hope your day is a hit!” which is clearly meant as a jab at the Wolverines.
However, since it’s Christmas, it was surely a light-hearted poke. Watch the Gamecocks take on the Wolverines at noon Eastern time on New Year’s Day on ESPN2.
