Xavier Legette, former South Carolina WR, scores 1st NFL TD
Xavier Legette had a very good collegiate career during his time at South Carolina.
In his first 4 seasons at South Carolina, Legette had 42 catches for 423 yards and 5 touchdowns. In 2023, he became a household name with 71 catches for 1,255 yards and 7 touchdowns. That performance last season helped make him the No. 32 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.
On Sunday, he scored his first career NFL touchdown during the Panthers game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

With 1:09 remaining in the second quarter, Andy Dalton hit Legette for an 8-yard touchdown to tie the game at 14. The Bengals have responded and are leading by 10 points late in the third quarter.
Entering the game, Legette had 6 catches for 77 yards. He nearly has that amount of catches today, as he has 5 catches for 49 yards. The season is beginning to look like it may be another lost season in Carolina, but Legette has a chance to continue and develop as an NFL receiver.
The Panthers will be back in action next week as they travel to Chicago to take on fellow rookies Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.
