Zavion Hardy, a 4-star defensive lineman out of Macon, Georgia (Tattnall Square Academy), has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Hardy shared on social media that he committed to South Carolina. Hardy is listed at 6-foot-5 and 262 pounds and has a reported 20 offers, including Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Florida State. He’s ranked as the No. 29 defensive lineman in the country, and the No. 17 player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite. Hardy is the Gamecocks’ third defensive linemen commitment in the Gamecocks 2023 class.

“It feels like Georgia, it feels like home,” Hardy said in an interview with TheBigSpur following his visit. “I could see myself playing there. I am very tight with coach (Shane) Beamer and coach (Jimmy) Lindsey. That is why South Carolina is a top school for me.”’

“He’s tight, someone that I can play for,” Hardy said. “He’s straight up with me. Coach Lindsey, you can’t ask for a better coach than that.”
