De’Von Achane dealing with injury, status for Sunday TBD per HC Mike McDaniel

De’Von Achane would potentially be named the NFL Rookie of the Year if the award was given out today.
The award is… not given today, but you get the point: The former Texas A&M running back has been unbelievably good for Miami to start the 2023 season. He’s accrued 7 total touchdowns, 5 rushing and 2 receiving with 460 rushing yards through just 5 games with the team.
The Dolphins are 4-1 on the year with speed littered throughout the roster with Achane on the ground, Jaylen Waddle out wide and Tyreek Hill in the slot.
But on Monday Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel revealed that Achane suffered a knee injury and is currently under evaluation. For now, his status for Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the Panthers is still to be determined.
However, McDaniel failed to go into further detail regarding Achane’s injury on Monday:

Apologies to all Carolina fans out there, but the Panthers are objectively one of the bottom teams in the league. They’re the only remaining squad that has still yet to win a game, so the Dolphins are unlikely to rush him back if the injury turns out to be even slightly worrisome.
For now though, it’s a wait and see.
