Jaden Platt, a 4-star tight end out of Haslet, Texas (Eaton), has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Platt is ranked the No. 11 tight end in the Class of 2023, and the No. 39 player in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite. Platt was committed to Stanford since last December. Florida was also reportedly in the mix.

Platt plans to major in aerospace engineering and that has been a central part of his recruitment, GigEm247 reported. Texas A&M made that a focus of his visit to College Station.

“At A&M they kind of checked all the boxes for me. I really like Coach (James) Coley. I really like Jimbo (Fisher). I really think their ideas really talk to me and I really was able to connect with them on different levels,” he told GigEm247. “They told me how they planned to develop me. Where they plan for me to start, when to start. They want me to start pretty early.”
