Kirk Herbstreit reveals list of top individual performances from Week 4, includes Aggies defensive standout
When college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit released his list of top players after Week 4 action, he included a single SEC name.
Among the group of players that stretched across multiple conferences was Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior finished out Texas A&M’s 27-10 win over Auburn on Saturday with 8 total tackles (5 solo) and 2 sacks to lead the team in both categories on the victory.

Heading into Week 5, Cooper totals 24 combined tackles (13 solo) and a pair of sacks. His list of accomplishments of note during 2023, where he’s started in all 3 games, include being second on the team with 8 tackles, including 3 for a loss of 9 yards.
He also tacked on 2 hurries against New Mexico, leading the way with 6 tackles, including a solo sack and recovered a fumble at Miami.
During the 2022 season, Cooper appeared in 11 games making 8 starts. He was 4th on the team with 61 tackles, posting 10 tackles against App State. It marked the 2nd double-digit tackles game of his career.
