After nagging injuries limited former Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett’s effectiveness in 2016, the top overall draft pick is already dealing with an issue with the Cleveland Browns.

Garrett is reportedly dealing with a sore foot, but it’s not connected to last year’s high ankle sprain.

Garrett missed Wednesday’s training session as the Browns go through OTAs, prompting coach Hugh Jackson to tell Cleveland.com that Garrett is taking things slowly, but was expected to practice on Thursday:

“It’s nothing major,” said Jackson. “So I think we’re right where we need to be. He’s done a good job. He looked good yesterday. We’ll get him back out there tomorrow. I know you guys want to see him in the worst way. We picked the wrong day to have an off day. That’s why I’ve got to answer all these questions. But, no, he’s doing fine.”

So far, Jackson said the team is extremely impressed by the No. 1 pick, saying he’s done everything asked of him:

“He looked like Myles Garrett,” said Jackson. “Big, fast, tough. He’s everything we think he is.”

It sounds like the Browns aren’t concerned with the injury, but they’ll need Garrett at full strength when training camp starts later this summer.
