Ross Bjork met with media after what must have been a hectic Sunday for the Texas A&M Athletic Director.

Bjork made the decision to move on from head coach Jimbo Fisher Sunday despite the Aggies downing Mississippi State 51-10 last night. When asked the reasoning behind the decision, Bjork insisted the Aggies are “stuck in neutral” under Fisher.

The Aggies AD was also asked about a list of potential candidates for the head coaching job, and he simply gave the typical answer: “Right now, everybody’s a candidate.”

Well, everyone except Jimbo Fisher.

It’s fair to say that the Aggies were not bad under Fisher. But “better than average” is not the standard at Texas A&M or a lot of other schools in the SEC. The Aggies win games against bad teams and fight close in games against good and great teams.

With the talent on the field, Texas A&M should not be struggling as they are.

A potential list of early candidates include Duke’s Mike Elko, Oregon’s Dan Lanning and Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin.
