Texas A&M defensive tackle Daylon Mack had a few carries during his high school career. Now, he wants to get some time with the Aggies’ offense.

During his meeting with the media on Monday, Mack said that he’s been pushing coach Jimbo Fisher to put him in on offense for some carries. And Mack doesn’t want a trick play. He just wants to be handed the ball so he can run it into the end zone.

“I mentioned it a couple times in practice, he kind of laughed it off,” Mack told the media. “I might push hard on it this bye week. …

“We don’t need the trick play, I can just run it in.”

Mack, a senior, has never played offense during his career at Texas A&M. This season, he has 13 tackles and two sacks in seven games for the Aggies.

If Mack gets an opportunity on offense, he already has a touchdown celebration planned. But he isn’t ready to reveal what it is quite yet.

“I’ve got to wait, I can’t really spoil it, but I’ve definitely got one,” Mack told the media.

After the bye week, the Aggies travel to play Mississippi State on Oct. 27. And perhaps if Mack can convince Fisher, the defensive tackle could make his offensive debut for Texas A&M.
