AJ McCarron doesn’t believe Tennessee’s home-field advantage is completely natural.

This has been a talking point in Alabama circles this week after radio play-by-play man Chris Stewart claimed that Tennessee was piping in fake crowd noise during the Alabama-Tennessee game on Saturday.

On Monday, McCarron agreed with that assertion:

Tennessee has denied that it uses any artificial means to pump up the crowd noise at Neyland Stadium on game days. Athletic director Danny White even acknowledged the controversy this week:

Tennessee has long been considered to have one of the loudest home crowds in all of college football. Neyland Stadium has an official capacity of 101,915.

Tennessee now has back-to-back wins over Alabama in Knoxville. The Vols also defeated Alabama at Neyland Stadium back in 2022, meaning that Josh Heupel and the Vols have won 2 of the last 3 meetings in this series.

Tennessee has 3 home games remaining this season: against Kentucky on Nov. 2, against Mississippi State on Nov. 9 and against UTEP on Nov. 23. The Vols have an off week this weekend before taking on the Wildcats in Week 10.
